Can I Get an Upgrade?

Guess where we went last night! Yep the fair. I wasn't going to go but it was $1 night so Jayke and I hauled ourselves down there to meet up with Laura and her family, Autumn and her two kids, and Sara.

I ended up being glad they went and really happy we ran into Autumn since she has a little boy, Logan, who is 7 months younger than Jaykeb. They knew each other from VBS. They rode all the rides together...so cute! Here is a picture of the four kids, Riley, Hannah, Jaykeb, and Logan riding the dinosaurs. Getting one they were all semi-smiling in was a miracle!

Yes, we did come home with a fish. No, Jayke did not win it...his mom did. We added a fish to the table where the turtle sits. I don't remember if I wrote about the turtle. Mike brought Jayke a turtle last time he was here. Yes, it is the teeny tiny kind that carry salmonella so NO Jaykeb is NOT allowed to touch it. Yes, I have found out that he has messed with the turtle and not washed his hands immediately. I got him in there immediately after discovering this though and we were fine. I had a talk with him and he understands now that he can't mess with the turtle unless I am with him and because my kid is so good about not doing something he has been told not to I'm not worried. That wasn't a sarcastic statement either If I tell Jaykek not to do something he just doesn't ever again. It is actually pretty amazing.

This was Sara's favorite chicken. A silky. I think they are pretty cute too and man did the smell of that chicken barn bring back some childhood memories! My grandpa used to raise chickens and it would turn into a family affair but that is another blog for another day. Don't distract me...it is so easily done!

I always have a pic of the kid on the merry go round.

Last but not least, is the very first ride they went on...the roller coaster. Jaykeb love it! I think he is going to be a coaster junkie like his dad is and like his mom was. I probably still like them just haven't been on one in long time. This wasn't the kiddos first time of course...he's an old pro at riding. We hit fairs and carnivals in SC all the time. I wondered if he would be scared this time but he wasn't at all. Unfortunately he is still vertically challenged and couldn't get on on all the rides he wanted to go on. Next summer for sure!

That was about it for the fair. Sara and I did take the kiddo through the barns to see all the animals, which he loved. He had cotton candy but we passed on the rest of the fair food because Sara had gotten food poisoning there the night before and I didn't want to be up all night puking like she had been the night before. We left there and hit the Target. I needed a few things for my NEW OFFICE! Sara...stop reading here!

Yesterday I was promoted at work...and given a raise. Bout time they recognize! They actually moved quite a few people around and one of them was me! I sort of knew about this Friday but wasn't supposed to talk about it until it was official. I start training for my new job this morning. I will still be doing my old job in the afternoons and will begin training the girl taking my position on August 1st. I'm going to miss those little credit card slips...NOT!

The only bad thing about this move is that I no longer share an office with Sara. In fact, I'm clear on the opposite side of the building from her now. She has a plan to put her desk in the hall and day by day inch it back towards me...we will see how that goes.

I packed all my crap up and hauled it all back to my new office yesterday. You know me people, I already was doing a mental inventory of my stuff in storage to see what pictures I want to hang and planning what florals I need to make. I told my boss, Jessica, I would be accepting house warming gifts after 3p.m. this afternoon in my new office. She looked at me and said all she wanted to know is where I will be keeping the candy dish and when it will be refilled. Sigh Some things change but mostly they stay the same.

Yea for me! Can you see me patting myself on the back? Well, I am trust me.

I Gots Nothing

I don't have anything to talk about. Thought I might but turns out not yet. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow I will even post the cute pictures I took of Sara and Jayke riding his tricycle together yesterday.

Gossip Girls

I swear I love most of the people I work with but damn if they aren't all crazy! Seriously nuts people. We have one girl who claims it is her birthday every other day so we will order out from somewhere. There is Holly who cracks me up on a regular basis with her matter-of-fact way about everything. She calls us all heifers and trolls...lovingly of course. Our file room girls are young and always smiling at you when you walk in like they no some secret about you. Two of my favorite people there those file room girls. They make my job easier because I can have them pull everything I need and copy it for me. Saves me TONS of time. When you come and go you have to pass the smokers who are always out back cussing the place out. They are angry people...Hopefully just at the job.

We just got a new AR Manager who I think is going to fit in with the crazies just fine. Her office is right next to mine so I will get to watch her slowly lose her mind just like the rest of us have. It didn't take her long at all to find the candy bowl I keep. She made her own paper name plate for outside her office which I wish I had thought of first! Mine would say Princess Wendy and I may make it still. I thought we were getting name plates but the high rate of turnover may have changed the boss's mind about ordering them. We lost yet another girl yesterday.

Next is my direct supervisor. Jessica. Jessica is always coming to our office to give us crap about something. Overheard her the other day talking to someone across the hall about how she would be doing better without "that girl across the hall"...that would be me. I didn't miss a beat or even look up...just told her to shut it. That sent her into a giggling fit. She gives me crap for anything and everything and that is how you know she likes you. She also makes a small meal out of the candy I always make available in my office to the crazies. I think they work better hopped up on sugar and let me tell you they get plenty of it! It is shocking how fast those women will empty a candy dish!

The owner of the company is as crazy as everyone else. She periodically announces things over the intercom like she is missing her cats on the days we are ordering Chinese. Sometimes if she has picked up lunch she will just yell into the intercom, "LETS EAT!" Will just about knock you out of your chair if you have your radio turned up at all. She told me I had to sell a kidney to pay for Jessica's adding machine and it goes on and on.

Last but certainly not least is my office mate, Sara. Sara and I sit and complain and make fun of people all day. I posted a while back a picture of her under her desk drying her pants with a space heater. She has slammed into the wall rolling in her chair before. Today she wanted to have chair races up and down the hallway. I would have done it if I didn't have flip flops on. A serious disadvantage. It is truly a wonder that Sara and I manage to get any work done at all. Somehow we have fooled them into thinking we are wonderful though. Our office has turned into gossip central and is usually quite loud. Everyone Stops by to get candy and tell what they know or find out if we know anything which we ALWAYS do. There are many more who work there but either their crazy hasn't been witnessed by me yet or they just aren't crazy enough to mention.

Most recently the topic of discussion has been about who we all think is the office thief! Someone has been stealing money out of people's offices. Sara and I have even left money on our desks to see if they would take it. Sara thought we should tie a string to a five dollar bill and drop it in the hall but Holly said, "Hell if I see a five in the hall I'M picking it up!" We all agreed that we would too therefore blowing Sara's fantabulous idea out of the water. A crazy idea such as this is usually thought up and thought better of over the course of the day EVERY day. Crazy...that's just how we roll!

Gotta Hit the Munchie Shack!

There's Nate...sleepin away. He did manage to wake up enough to go to the movies with Sara and me day before yesterday. We saw Hancock. I liked it. It wasn't as good as I was expecting but still funny and had enough action in it to take it out of the comedy genre. I'm not big on comedies ya know. Has to be a drama, action, suspense, horror, or even sci-fi movie for me. Luckily I finally found a friend who is a girl and also likes the same kind of movies. I can now go to the movies and enjoy again!

Nate had us cracking up the entire time. It started when we had to hit the "Munchie Shack" on the way in. He couldn't remember what the "Concession" stand was called so made up his own name. Popcorn? Candy? No, nachos with LOTS of jalepenos. He sat there eating those things sweating and crying. I could hardly focus on the movie for all the nacho eating and the smell of jalepenos seeping from his body. Good thing I grabbed a bunch of napkins for him on the way in...he needed them to mop his brow.

Nate has been on an eating binge since he hit the state line. We have been teasing him about it ever since as well. He's lucky though, he can do that. He has always been so skinny and now he is busting out of his Bob Marleys...and proud.

We were over at Dad's again this past weekend. Sherri, AJ, and I played Rock Band and let me just say that oh yes we do rock on that thing. My dad had other thoughts about it but it works out well for him since he is hard of hearing.

AJ brought her cousins over and Jayke was in heaven! A little girl for him to swim with, play with, walk around and stare at. I got the slip and slide out for them with much discussion of ruining grass, running the well dry, and burning up the pump on the well. As you can see below, the slippery wet fun prevailed.

It was very hard to get a picture of this for the blog that there wasn't someone in the background in a bathing suit. You know I would have been KILLED for posting any pics with people in them lounging in their swimwear!

A Stolen Post

For those family members who read and also check Serenity's blog...sorry for the duplicate pictures but I didn't get very many so OH YES I DID STEAL HER PICS! She has more on her page if you want to go look click here! I'm all impressed with myself because I haven't embedded a link in forever and I remembered how to do it! Not that it is hard or anything just that I have a TERRIBLE memory!

So up first is Jayke holding/choking baby Corrinne. I hope I'm spelling this right...if not don't hold it against me and I won't hold it against the millions who will spell my kiddos name wrong in his life time. The Boy has the head lock down! I'm signing him up for some wrestling lessons...WWE here we come!

Next up is Grammy. I don't really have anything funny to say about this picture other than Corrinne is finding something quite humorous!

Finally, the last picture I stole, is of my mom, Jayke, and Corrinne. I wasn't around mom and Jayke to see how he acted when she held the baby. I think he was just loving having a baby to hold and milk that he forgot to be jealous. I could be wrong. Someone would have to correct me. Doesn't my mom's kitchen table look nice in the background? Random thought.

This last one I took at dad's this weekend. Thought I better throw a picture I actually took in for good measure. Jayke hid in this box from the ice maker we got dad. He was waiting for Sherri, AJ, and Kim to come in so he could pop up and scare them. I just thought it was kinda funny...a Jayke in a box! Ha!

The Grasshopper Turned into a Cricket

Hope all had a happy 4th! We did. Busy but good. We spent most of the weekend at my dad's which meant swimming, homemade ice cream, and dirt pudding. My sisters were there along with AJ and Nate. My dad put some crazy rule into effect that we couldn't light any fireworks which left the ground. WHAT? What is the point if we aren't trying to blow something up or catch one of the neighbor's houses on fire? Hmpf!

Just because one year we had a misfire and almost took out the neighbors to the west of my dad doesn't mean we are irresponsible with the explosives! Mike did that and he wasn't going to be there so we shouldn't be punished for his mistake! That misfire was the best part of the night! Seeing Dad pop his head up over the fence and yell, "Everybody all right over there?" was great! We screamed and laughed and almost fell out of our chairs. A few minutes later we had him running to the neighbors to the east to make sure we hadn't caught their house on fire. Turns out they were sitting outside watching our show. Can't light any fireworks that leave the ground! Whoever heard of such a crazy rule?

Think we obeyed? Well, sort of. Sherri lit one that she "thought" was a fountain...turns out if was a mortar with a parachute in it. Jayke loved it! It landed in the pool. Dirty looks were given. Snickers and giggling ensued. I think we had just as much fun complaining about not being allowed to light "the big ones" as we would have lighting them. I shocked we didn't get kicked out. We did actually get ditched for the "Racino". Dad thought he was going to win a BMW so my sisters, mom, and dad headed to the new casino/horse track. Just up and left AJ, Jayke, and me sitting there alone. We weren't feeling the love at all!

Angi called and saved me though. Jayke and I made a mad dash back to Muncie to hook up with Angi, her family and about 18 other people. We went and watched the fireworks at the fairgrounds then went and lit our own after the big ones were over AND we were allowed to light ones THAT LEFT THE GROUND!

Here are some pictures from the night. There were so many people and so much going on it was hard to get good pictures. When there are 8 kids running around with sparklers it is hard to focus on taking pictures!

We did break Dad's rule to launch one of these...

Chinese sky lanterns. They are my new favorite 4th of July thing. It's a big paper lantern with a candle in it that you light and the hot air makes it float off into the sky. We watched it go forever. We could barely see it when it finally flickered out far far away. Even dad got up and left the race he was watching to see the lantern off. We have another one to light still but Jayke didn't want it to fly away. I may go see if I can find another one to do here at our house for Grammy to see.

All in all...stupid rules aside...it was a good 4th. There was shopping, eating, drinking, laughing, and the lighting of explosives...what more could you ask for?

Got Milk?

Back in soccer again. Funny, I show a picture of swimming and start talking about soccer. He looks better than ever out there. He is actually going after the ball and taking it when he can. Some new found aggression. You don't see it much though. Isabelle is on his team again. They were pretty cute when they discovered each other and stood there and had a brief chat in the middle of game play. Guess they were catching up a little.

My cousins from Colorado are here with their new baby. Jayke is baby CRAZY! He loves holding the baby and feeding the baby. He even says he wants to change the baby's diaper! His idea of holding the baby is to have her lay with him because, "She gets too heavy" and he "Needs his arm back!"

Last night the kiddo was on a roll with his funny stuff. Sara and I had taken him to get ice cream and then went to Walmart to buy a DVD player. He was cracking us up! Sara told him to say I'm a P*I*M*P and he said I'm a pp! He had the tone right and everything...just missed couple of letters changing the whole meaning and cracking us right up. This was all while he was waving a Slim Jim around and yelling, "I'm gonna smack you with a piece of meat!"

Here is a picture of Jaykeb with baby Corrinne. According to him he is "Milking the baby.' Too funny!

Brusha, Brusha, Brusha!

I'm still alive! I've just had a CRAZY weekend. Good but crazy! It has sorta carried over into the week too. I've been hanging out with my nephew all weekend. We went to Broadripple in Indy Saturday night to hang out with AJ and that was an experience in itself. I'm not too fond of arriving at the bars at 1a.m. I like to get there a little earlier than that.

I'm not going to get into the weekend too much this morning cause I need to get to work. I'm debating on leaving after a couple of hours to hit the pool with Ang. So until I have time to update properly I will just give ya this picture of some teeth brushing lessons with AJ.

I'm Not Tired...I'm Just Crazy!

I spent 2 hours at the dentist yesterday and AM STILL NOT DONE! Was supposed to get the two crowns put on and that would have been it however, when they went to put the one on the molar the tissue was up on the tooth not letting it go down over it properly. This would be why I have been living on pain meds for the past two weeks! So what did they do about this? They took a laser and cut that tissue off with it. This meant more needles...more numbing...more tooth ache afterwards.

They managed to get one crown on and it feels great! The other problem child tooth has a new temporary on it and they are making a new crown. I get to go back and do it all over again in two more weeks! At least so far so good in the pain department. This new temp feels much better than the old one and the gums don't seem too traumatized where they met up with a laser. Let me just tell you that it stinks when they laser off part of your mouth. Just gross.

I think I may have worked about an hour yesterday. Between the dentist and going to take my nephew around to look for jobs. Sara and I hung out with him all evening last night. I haven't laughed that hard for a long time.

Tonight is the last night for VBS. I skipped it last night...bad girl. Jayke wasn't going so I took a little break. Sorry Dr. Bubbles...will be back tonight. Here is another pic of Jayke jamming on stage with the blow up guitars.

Welcome to Dr. Bubbles and Miss Molecule's laboratory

We have not had to amputate yet...whew! I was gettin worried! He woke up screaming about his knee this morning still. I hope that this is normal behavior for a four year old. Seems like he freaks out a little too much for minor injuries to me.

Jaykeb is having the best time in VBS. He will be sad for it to end. I'm getting a little tired of wearing my silly shirt every night. It is a science theme so I also wear a name tag with my scientific name on it. My name is Miss Molecule and Laura is Dr. Bubbles. We do science experiments with our class every night. Tonight we used expando powder which turned to gel and Dr. Bubbles accidentally...cough...dumped it on one of the guy teacher's heads. It is kind of a slimy gel stuff. The kids loved it but I don't think pastor Andy was too happy about her little accident.

This is the little guy that is on our shirts. Not really my style but whatever...and the last one I took with the camera phone (that is why it isn't very good) but it is Jayke and his classmates jamming on stage with their "air" guitars during one of the songs they sing before and after their classes. If Laura would send me the ones from her camera I could put some good ones on here!

I get my crowns put on this morning. I'm hoping that means I can put the drugs away. I have been living on Tylenol since the root canals. I am hoping it is the temporaries causing it. Tomorrow my nephew applies for a job at UPS...heheheee! All I can do is giggle about that! Oh yeah...and because of my posting about my text messages people who normally don't text me so much started...yeah, I'm talking about you AJ! I may hit 2000 this month. She wanted to know if I really like anyone that much to talk to them that much. Guess so...I talked to her all day! Bella I will email you my new number. Gotta go rest my fingers now so I will be able to type all day 2marrow!

Text Me and I'll Text You Back!

I love this garden. Jayke fell down and skinned his knee after church tonight. You would think he cut his leg OFF from the amount of drama which ensued. He is still limping around and has to sleep on my bedroom floor tonight because of his injury. We have had trouble getting his pants off, I had to carry him up the stairs because he can't walk. He originally said that he couldn't sleep at all tonight because of his scrape. He couldn't go to the bathroom because he couldn't pull his underwear down and OF COURSE he wanted to go to his Oma! All this and the scraped knee happened a couple of hours ago! Thank gawd he is going to sleep now!

Grammy wanted to put Neosporin on it, of course. That is her cure all. If anyone saw and remembers the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding and how the dad always wanted to put Windex on everything that is my Gramma with her Neosporin. With my grandpa it was diesel fuel. Don't ask because I don't know why and NO I never put diesel fuel on anything. Apparently he did though. Then again he did shoot a mouse in the living room once too! I could blog all day about the crazy things he did but I will save that for another day when my phone isn't blowing up.

What did we ever do before texting? I know I send over 1500 texts a month and receive even more! Crazy but at least I can talk to whoever I want all day long while I'm...ahem...working. Gotta run. Texts to answer!

Snore!

Does this look like a boy who likes sleeping in his own bed? I still can't believe how easy it was making the switch. Then again, everything has been easy with this kid! I'm so lucky!

I had to switch computers to load this and don't have any of my VBS pics on this computer so I will have to post about that later. We had fun...Jayke more than I. We go back everynight this week.

I got my hair colored yesterday. It is now super dark and I like it. I am already planning on adding red highlights to it though. Laura cut 8 inches off her hair yesterday so we both are looking different today.

I'm on a countdown to SATURDAY! I have big plans and I can't freakin' wait! 4 days to go!

@#$^&&**^%$$#%^!!

Blogger is not my friend this morning. Won't let me upload any pictures. I had a picture of our classroom at VBS which starts tonight. Since I can't put it up here this morning I'm skipping my post until tonight when hopefully I can figure out what the problem is. Be back later!

Row Row Row Your Boat

We got a new toy last night. A remote control boat. Since we live on all these ponds it seemed like a logical purchase. First thing we did was chase geese with it. I think we are going to have to get a faster boat for that. After that we took it over to the other pond so Oma and Opa could see it. Jayke immediately got it stuck in some weeds out far enough it couldn't be reached from the bank. This is where I got my money's worth out of the boat. My mom had to get in the big boat tied to their dock and go out to get the rc boat unstuck. Watching this was worth the $20 I spent on the toy. She didn't know how to turn on the motor so she was just going to float out to the toy boat. She had no oars. Half way out I yelled to her to ask how she was going to get back. She just looked at me and said, "I don't know." She did happen to have her ceiling fan duster with her so I was thinking she could use it to push herself back to the dock...if it would reach the bottom. She, however, opted for paddling with her hands.

I was hoping for a spill but it didn't happen and she made it back. I was entertained for a while AND NO, I didn't have my camera with me! I know, what was I thinking, right? A picture of my mom paddling that boat with her hands while holding her purple ceiling fan duster would have been PERFECT blog material!

We are taking the boat with us to my dad's today. Jayke can drive it around the pool and not have to worry about getting it stuck in pond weeds. Everyone will be there today...Nate, Jamie, Kim, AJ, Sherri, Mom, Dad, and us. I have started a trend. First I moved back to Indiana then my nephew, Nate, moved here. Now my sister who lives in NC is moving back. She started her new job on Monday. She is buying a lake house up north so we will be able to go to the lakes now too! Gotta get The Boy swimming!

I got a little package in the mail yesterday with the cutest little necklace in it. I was going to wait to blog about it after I got a picture of it to put on here but I can't wait...I wanted to thank Bella for it now! I love it...very cute and creative! If you are wondering who Bella is she is in my blogroll <---over there somewhere. I'm too lazy to mess with links this morning.

Gotta hit the shower now so I can head to the pool. I know, why bother right? I can't leave the house without showering first...it's a little quirk of mine. We also aren't leaving until kiddo cleans his room so we may be here for a while yet. I don't see anything happening in there yet. Okay...I'm off like a prom dress...

Random Crap Seeping From my Head

Not sure if this guy is fitting for a children's garden or a horror movie...anyway, we saw him on our little outing the other day. He is a little creepy at first.

I've made a decision to make my hair dark again. I know everyone said they liked the lighter me but I my mom told me it wasn't "me" so now I'm all weird about it and changing it back. It will make it healthier again anyway.

Next week is Vacation Bible School. We went to the church and started decorating last night. It starts the same night as soccer and at the same time so we are going to miss a little soccer. I'm glad soccer is starting again, I miss it and I get to go to the plex again!

Note to Angi: The jury is still out on whether or not a beer scavenger hunt was a good idea or not...successful though! Please remember you don't have to explain everything to everyone who will ask. You know what I'm talkin bout!

That's it...I should have been leaving for work 20 minutes ago. Oh well, priorities ya know.

I Miss my Kiddo When He's Gone!

Funny how much you can miss this kid when you are only away from him for one night! I know the feeling is mutual too because when he comes home he just wants to hug me and stare at me as if I'm going to disappear in front of his eyes.

I don't have enough time to put more pictures on here right now and I didn't do anything but clean out my car, get my nails did, and finally watch the third Pirates movie last night so this is it for today.

Happy Birthday Kelly! I sent ya something but it is going to be late...

Par-tay!

I survived my party...sort of. It was really funny looking back through the pictures ...a lot of which I won't be putting on here. I did manage to get a few that I can post though.

Angi and Laura towards the end of the evening.

Most of the group...studying hard!

"Smell this!"

Jello shot or 10 anyone?

I would not make a good bartender! So we had fun...maybe too much fun. I had several people who had family in town because of Father's Day but there were a few people there who are not pictured too.

Sara and I saw a movie Friday...I wouldn't recommend it. The Happening was not happening! Silly movie. Sara and I like scary movies and action movies but this one was neither. Just silly.

Sunday we went to my dad's for Father's Day. Sara went with me to swim with Jayke a little. Everyone was there. I think I started a trend. I moved back to Indiana now my nephew and one of my sisters have moved back too! Makes family things more fun with a full house! Dad said Jayke is the king of the house and pretty much when I got there I saw everyone catering to his every wish! He loves Nate's girlfriend and calls her MISS Jamie. She and Nate are both great with him.

After Dad's we went to my mom's to see Opa. His eyes lit up when I handed him his gigantic bottle of bourbon. I then came home and we both crashed. Busy busy weekend for us both. I got to rest up back at work today though. The new receptionist started today so my work load is about to go back to normal. I did still have to deal with patients all day today who didn't know who or where they had their procedures done though. Sara and I discussed the party details and she filled me in on some of the parts I couldn't recall...hmmm...when did that happen? I don't remember that!

What I Learned This Weekend...

....JELLO SHOTS WILL KILL YOU! I will attempt a post later.

I Like My Darvocet with a Side of Ibuprofen Please!

Guess what we did today. Yep we went swimming at Angi's mother in law's. I took half the day off since me tooth is killing me...yes, I'm still whining about that. I would rather have another c-section than another root canal. Didn't hurt at all when I was having it but it is killing me now. I lay in bed wishing for a pair of rusty ol pliers to rip that tooth out with last night. I took many a Darvocet and even more Tylenol. Today I have switched to 800mg of Ibuprofen. It doesn't help that I have a wicked case of the allergies on top of this. Claritin is my friend. I'm turning into a walking pharmacy!

Back to the swimming..

This kid is going to turn into a little fish! He was doing so well today! He didn't even care when water got on his head or in his face. By the end of the afternoon he was floating on his stomach without holding onto anyone...just using floaties. He was jumping of the side to Angi who wasn't acutally catching him. He even ventured into the deep end without someone holding onto him. It amazes me how the things that were such big issues for him are no longer an issue at all. He is growing up so very fast.

Here he is swimming with Courtney. All the kids were a little older than Jayke but he still had fun.

Here is the whole group in the pool surrounding Ang. She may kill me for putting this on here but it was her idea for me to take is so I'm taking that as permission.

After swimming we went and did a little shopping. I had to stock up on my pain killers ya know. We also did something that was very "South Carolina" for us. We took the camera and headed to a garden to take some pictures. Those will be for tomorrow. We haven't done anything like that sine we moved back up here. I think it is because I'm from here and take things for granted around here. I haven't been taking many pictures with my actual camera lately so it was time. I got some good ones, I think.

I have a busy weekend coming up. Games tomorrow, movie with Sara, par-tay on Saturday, Father's Day and Birthday for Dad on Sunday AND all this with gas costing $4.19 a gallon! We are supposed to have more severe weather starting tomorrow night too. Hope the Heron Pointe clubhouse doesn't blow away with all my pink napkins and fancy shaped ice cubes in it!

I Don't Want to Wear a Grouchy Shirt!

Sorry...camera phone again...

It is fitting that this little guy is sitting on my desk this week. Pretty much sums up my attitude. Reminds me also that about a year ago Jayke wouldn't wear green because he didn't want to wear a "grouchy shirt"! Oscar is technically there to remind me that it is my week to collect the trash and make sure it finds its way to the dumpster. I'm going to give him another assignment though. He will also serve as a reminder to me to try to be friendly on the phones. A job that is getting harder and harder as the patients seem to be getting more and more difficult. The good news is they finally hired a new receptionist who will start on Monday. I will then get to go back to only doing my job.

We got our new air conditioner put in today! You can't understand how happy this makes me. The one we had didn't cool the upstairs which is where Jayke and I live. It started out bad and only got worse two days ago when it completely pooped out. Wonder why appliances always break on a Sunday? Anyway, two sweaty days later we now have a big new air conditioner that makes it nice and frosty upstairs AND a new furnace to cook us in the winter.

I have a new project I'm working on. It is trying to get Grammy to stop answering the door with her shirt completely unbuttoned and wide open to the world. Just a little personal goal I have. So far I'm failing.

Tonight was the first night Jaykeb has spent with me since Thursday! He was with his dad this weekend then when our air went out he elected to stay at my mom's cushy pad instead of sweatin' it out with his ol mom. Wimp. No, really, he was sick and it was better for him to stay over there. He came home tonight and just kept hugging me like he hadn't seen me for a year. Makes a mom feel good that the kiddo can't even go 4 nights without missing her.

Finally this...

....today is my dad's birthday! Happy birthday to him...he doesn't look at this thing very often but I'm throwing this on here just in case.

Now I'm taking my heavily medicated bootwah (as Jayke puts it) to bed! Goodnight...or good morning rather.

All Holes Repaired

This is a hole in a tree that a woodpecker made...has nothing to do with anything other than I'm talking about holes today...holes in the road, holes in my tire, and holes in my teeth!

Well, the root canals are done. The tire and wheel on my car have been replaced so now maybe I can forget about that stupid pot hole. Forget about it but still remember to avoid it on my way home. The day after I hit it my Gramma called and got them to patch it but two weeks later it has opened up again and is the big gaping hole that tried to eat my car. I actually saw someone hit it on the way home today. He was lucky and didn't get a flat though. One thing I know for sure is that you don't want to be in the sights of an 85 year-old woman with nothing better to do though. She will have that hole fixed soon enough, I'm sure!

Root canals, however not fun, are also not so bad. My mouth hurts quite a bit this evening but it is not from the root canals, it is from them having to dig the filling out of my gums that had fallen out and gotten shoved repeatedly into my flesh. THAT hurts. I actually fell asleep during the canals. I go back in a couple of weeks to get my permanent crowns. I got all ambitious and scheduled cleanings for both the kiddo and myself too!

More rain, wind, and thunder tonight. My dad's yard took a beating in the storm the other night. He lost a lot of big trees. We haven't had any storm damage other than the fountain in the pond is no longer working. I HATE when the fountain is not on. Too quite. I like to hear it at night through my balcony door when I'm laying in bed. It's restful. I think they are going to fix it next week or the week after.

I get to go back to work while still on pain meds tomorrow. Should be an interesting day of trying to get patients to figure out which doctor they saw and/or which facility they were seen at. I don't for the life of me understand how they never seem to know this information but they don't and it seems to now be my job to talk them through locating this information on their pretty little pink statement they are holding in their sweaty little paws! "Above the PO Box, what does it say?" "No! ABOVE the PO BOX!" Do me a favor people. If you're calling to pay your medical bills tomorrow, KNOW WHO YOUR DOCTOR WAS OR AT LEAST WHICH HOSPITAL YOU WENT TO!!!

New slide show at the very bottom of the page for those who didn't get yesterday's memo!

Sort of a Post

I may not feel like blogging today so I made a new slide show...scroll to the very bottom of the page to see it. There are quite a few pictures in it, some that have already been posted on here and some new ones that haven't. Some you can only see on my Myspace, etc. Guess I got bored tonight watching my team lose...again. Go look if ya want.

A Bunch of Yuck

Sorry...I've been MIA. I've been sick. Don't know if it is a cold or allergies but I feel like a pile of poo. On top of that I am having two root canals and two crowns tomorrow morning. I'm just hoping I don't have to sneeze as they are digging into my tooth! All I can say is thank GOD for insurance!

The Boy was with his dad this weekend so it was pretty quite around here. I went to a birthday party for Angi's son that Jayke was supposed to go to. Fun times sweating in the skating rink with a bunch of rowdy boys. Good insight into what I have to look forward to down the road.

Today I will be making specially shaped pink ice cubes for my par-tay. Don't ask what shape they are...just use your imagination!

UUUHHH! I Hate Sunburns!

I have a mini sunburn from swimming this afternoon...yes, I know you warned me Ang. Warned me then wanted me to put on the Booty D-Lite! Whatever. I am determined to get a tan this summer. I never get tan. This burn will be gone and back to pasty white tomorrow but I'm thinking if I work on it daily I may be able to have a little color that sticks around for longer than a day by the end of the summer. We shall see.

Jayke began his summer of swimming today! He was scared as usual but good ole KP got him in the pool and had him bouncing around with water wings on all by himself in no time. Something Mommy can't do. Kathy is all about her kids, her kids friend's kids...any kids! Jayke took right to her and I think that is why she made progress with him. He was jumping off the side to me by the time we left. I think we will accomplish getting over the water fear this summer as well. He is getting so big!

I think I may have gotten my hair too blonde. What do you think? (picture taken pre-burn)

Just is a lot lighter than I have had it in a long time. Can't decide if I like it or not.

Only two more weeks until my party! I'm getting excited!!!

I'm NOT Selling My Kidneys For You!

First we have The Boy showing off his trophy. It has gone on tour with him. He has carried that thing around everywhere and it now sits right in the middle of the coffee table. He is so proud.

The room is finished...I still have to hang pictures but other than that it is done and turned out pretty cute. He loves it and goes to bed willingly everynight. I might get pictures of it someday. Busy busy busy!

Here is Jayke's new best friend...Nate. Nate is my nephew and he has come up from Florida to stay for a while. Jayke LOVES hanging out with Nate! So cute. Nate's friend Jamie plays with The Boy all the time too and is really good with him. I'm glad he has Nate to hang out with right now. Good for him.

Work is crazy right now. I'm doing my job and another one too. Sara and I lock ourselves in the office, answer phones and try to get our work done. My boss told me I was going to have to sell a kidney to pay for a new adding machine today. I told her I was already doing two jobs for one paycheck and that I draw the line at selling body parts for her. Her response was that she thought I was a good employee until I refused to sell organs for her. I think I need to renegotiate my position in that joint. I need hazard pay for being exposed to a bunch of crazies all day.

Another Milestone

My little boy grew up last night. He moved out of my room into his own and slept there all night by himself. We finally got his room painted and his bed moved over. I say we, really it was Dona and my mom because I had the stomach flu..yeah great vacation. Anyway, they got it all set up and I finished it up by putting up the wallies. He was so excited to get his own room he went right to work organizing it. Made me sad that he had to go this long without one. He drug a little cardboard box into my room and started packing up all his puppies to move out. tear slips down cheek I didn't even have to help him.

When it was bedtime he marched right in there and crawled into bed. He was asleep before I knew it. I, on the other hand, had to keep going in there to check on him. I did this until 2:30 when I finally drifted off only to be awakened by him screaming for me. I went stumbling into his room, barely missing the wall. He looked so sad sitting there on the bed. He had that bottom lip stuck out like he used to when he was a baby. He crawled into me lap and held onto me telling me between sobs that he didn't like it in there. For a couple of minutes my little guy was my baby again. I wanted to scoop him up and take him back to my room with me but I didn't. I tucked him back in and he was trying to be a big boy and stay. A few minutes later he came into my room and crawled into my bed. I told him he didn't get his bunk beds unless he sleeps in there all night. He cried but still shuffled back to his bed, determined. Once more he appeared in the doorway crying because he had to go to the bathroom and was afraid he wouldn't get his bunk beds if he got out of bed to pee. I told him it was okay...he went in, went potty, then went right back to bed.

I must have fallen asleep then. I'm not sure what he did but right as the sky started to get light he came in and announced, "The night is almost over!" Thank goodness because I'm exhausted and need to get some sleep! That was the last I heard from him until around 10a.m. this morning when he finally drug his sleepy butt out of bed. At least he was dragging it out of his own bed! Another milestone in his short little life. We are all so proud of him AND of me for sticking to it...finally!

Flat Tires are No Good!

Good ol' Indiana! Gotta love their pot holes! One got me today on my way home from work. Jumped right out in front of me and tried to eat half of my car. Luckily I wasn't too far from my house and I made it home where my Dad and the other Mr. Fixit in my life took a look at it for me.

I ended up calling Roadside assistance and they came out and put my spare on for me. Tomorrow I have to get a new tire AND rim because, yes, that mean ol pot hole bit my rim too. On the bright side of things Jayke did get to see a HUGE tow truck up close and personal in his own driveway! He will probably want me to get a flat once a week now.

No It is Not a Tornado Drill...

Strange things happen in our office. Here we have Sara, who I share an office with, trying to dry her pants under her desk.(She spilled water...she didn't wet them) The funny thing was that I was actually under my desk trying to get my fan unplugged for her to try that when Sue walked in and just looked at us both. Laura was standing in the other doorway laughing. Sara also tried to cram herself inside her desk. It was a sort of security drill. She wanted to find a hiding space in case an irate patient came in about their bill and started shooting up the place. I think someone spiked her pizza rolls today! She was cracking me up all day.

My day got even better when someone who will remain nameless put the wrong soap in the dishwasher and it overflowed soap all over the floor. I heard people yelling and I walked in the break room to find my friend on the floor cleaning up the mess. I swear I laughed more today than I have in a long time! I even laughed when I called my boss to see if we are hiring and she told me yeah for the payment processing job...uh...wait! That's MY job! I asked her if that means I had been promoted. No such luck...and no, we are not hiring.

Bend It Like Jayke!

Tonight was our last night of Spring Soccer. It was the best night ever too! Jaykeb was channeling Beckam tonight and scored 3 GOALS! The kid was like lightning out there. Must be the new hair cut...makes him more aerodynamic or something because he was FAST! I did overhear some of the kids asking him why he was covered with paint but Jayke just thought that was funny and told them all about how he is painting his new bedroom.

The kiddos got certificates from their coach and trophies from the league. I haven't seen The Boy so excited in quite a while as he was over that little plastic trophy. He had to show it to everyone! He carried it all over the sports complex even up to the ball diamonds when we walked up there before leaving. We have already discussed getting him a shelf for his trophies to hang on his wall. I think he will get one for t-ball too.

Here is his team with their coaches, Jason and Amanda. They were so proud of their trophies and we were all proud of them! They all improved over the season and we are looking forward to the summer season. Jayke wants to play on Jason's team again and they told me they are coaching again so we are going to try to get on that team. I thought it was cute that Jason's wife told me that he said he wants to coach but not without HIS team.

Oma and Aunt Dona got to see Jayke score his three huge goals tonight. I couldn't believe my mom sat out there in the rain and wind to watch. Jayke got a little embarrassed when she put up her umbrella and made her put it back down. She sat there with 3 jackets wrapped around her. Wimp. I had on a light weight jacket and flip flops. We did luck out and it started to really rain right as we were leaving. Good thing, my mom may have melted or something right in front of us!
