It's been a while since I've done a "Meme" sort of thing. This is a little game I saw over on Patti's blog and thought it was kinda funny.
What you do: Go to Google and put in your name + needs. Take the first 10 things that "Your Name" needs and list them as your post.
Here goes...
Wendy needs a sewing machine. I've often thought this but then I already have one named MOM!
Wendy needs to "Stoppy Shoppy"! Boy is this ever true!
Wendy needs to add passion and talk a bit more about herself and her experiences and things that make her angry. I have no problem doing this and any one who knows me knows that I don't!
Wendy needs time and space. Nope...had plenty of that, thank you.
Wendy needs to warm up to animal welfare. I'm trying to get the money to give my dogs a bigger fenced in area...geesh!
Wendy needs to add more chairs for these oral sessions. WHOA! BACK THE TRAIN UP! I'm not even going to touch this one.
Wendy needs our prayers. Amen sister!
Wendy needs every measuring cup and teaspoon she can find. Only for making jello shots.
Wendy needs Peter. Snicker
Wendy needs your time and money. Mostly just your money.
Wendy needs morning spunk. Yes! Yes, I do. I drag ass in the mornings.
Okay I went one over the 10...so sorry! Some of mine were pretty funny...cracked me up at least. Let me know if you play!

Christmas Meme
My day was pretty boring. Cleaning the house and doing more decorating for the party Friday. Shopping, a daily activity. I did get a super cute shirt. I tried on new jeans but decided to wait and see how long I can wear the jeans that literally fall off now when I walk across the room. I don't want to have to keep buying new ones.
We put up another Christmas tree and Jaykeb decided to decorate it with his toy cars. Very cute but not practical. They don't want to stay on there. I had them remove them and put the real ornaments on. He is into decorating this year. We also got glass ornaments and drew pictures on them Very cute. I had him make one for his dad. We hung them all on the tree and they look pretty good. I'm going to make more tomorrow. I'm starting to feel crafty again. It comes and goes.
It has been a while since I've done a Meme...so here ya go. Stolen from Cheeky.
My name….Wendy, Mommy
My website…..You’re reading it
I hail from ….Indiana.
1. All I want for Christmas is…to erase the past year of my life and start over at last Christmas.
2 My favorite holiday cocktail….I don't have one...I may after the party Friday though.
3. My favorite holiday party hors d’oeuvre….I love Angi's sausage thingys. Could I get that recipe please? I need it before Friday!
4. The average price I spend per gift….I'm not buying gifts this year except for Jayke. When it comes to him there is no limit!
5. My favorite gift to give during the holidays ….. It doesn't matter...whatever as long as I know the person will love it.
6. Something overrated about the holidays ….Nothing...I love it all!
7. Something I must have before Christmas ….. Ornaments! I get tons of new ones every year. Next year I may need a bigger tree!
8. One thing I always do during the holidays …. Send cards, decorate like a maniac, shop like crazy, take tons of pictures, make Christmas crafts.
9. Where I love to shop for the holidays….Target, Kohls, Hobby Lobby, etc.
10. A holiday tradition I have ….I thought I was starting a new one last year and that was going to Me's Zoo on Christmas eve with Jaykeb and Mike. I guess I will have to change that now along with everything else.
11. One thing you won’t find me doing during the holidays….Singing...I'm terrible.
12. What do you want for Christmas….Um, wasn’t this the first question.
I’m not tagging anyone, if you wanna steal it too, go for it.
AJ, I would appreciate an update sometime soon...maybe you could steal this meme!

How it All Started...

This is a meme of sorts. I got it from Just a Mom who got it from someone else. Thought it was a good idea since I always find myself explaining why I do this to whomever I tell about the blog. Pretend it says, "Why Wendy blogs" on that paper.
I’d like to know more about you, what makes you tick. I’d like to know how you started blogging. Did you keep a diary under lock and key safely hidden as a child? Do you still? Do you share the same things on your blog that you would have, or do, in your diary? Why did you start blogging and why do you continue? May as well throw in any roadblocks you have run into while blogging. If you still have your old diaries we’d love to see them.
I began blogging almost a year ago after seeing my cousin's blog. Megan had just had her first child when I learned about her blog and I thought what a great way to keep all the scattered family up to date with what is going on in our lives. We had recently moved to South Carolina from Indiana and I know there were some grandparents going through withdrawal from seeing Their Boy everyday so I decided to remedy the situation. At first I was nervous about it. Would anyone care that I had a blog? Would it be worth my time? Would I be able to come up with something to say? Okay, that last one, not so much since anyone who knows me knows I ALWAYS have plenty to say.
I also thought this blog would be fun for Jaykeb to read some day and a great way to record the happenings in his life as he grows up. I still have a baby book which is so full I have to write in the margins and another journal where I write down funny things he says too. My mom didn't keep up with this for me, like a lot of moms don't, so I was determined to do my best for Jayke. Hope he appreciates it one day.
It took me a while to get into a groove with my blog. I was so excited at first I was trying to come up with things all day long to put on here. I put a lot of stupid stuff up for a while. I became obsessed with the blog for a while. I would even wake up in the middle of the night with an idea for a post and have to go write it right then. Yeah, I'm weird. Finally I started reading stranger's blogs. Eventually I delurked and now have blogging friends, a couple of who I have met in person. I learned a lot from reading all the other blogs and finally have gotten into a routine of posting in the evenings the entry I wrote earlier in the day or even the night before. My family and friends read regularly now, even though most of them don't comment. I finally got over that part too.
I used to keep diaries when I was a kid and recently learned that my step-dad read them all the time. They claim it was to make sure I wasn't getting into any serious trouble. I'm glad I didn't find out until now that he read them. There would have been some fighting going on if I had found out back then. I still have all my diaries and occasionally read them, although I have not read them since learning that Jim used to read them.
I do not put everything on this blog that I would put in a diary because of who reads it. I'm not going to go into the who's, what's, and why's of this. Lets just say the blog is a censored version of my life. It had to be suitable for Grammy to read!
I haven't really hit any road blocks with my blogging. There have been a couple of times when I have been on vacation or had company that I didn't post for a week or so, but I don't count that as a roadblock.
Here are my journals and diaries. Jayke's baby book is there too because I write a lot in it. It is a journal of sorts. I wasn't about to go to the basement and dig out all the old ones for this picture so this is just the current ones. The polk a dot one is where I write all the funny things Jayke says so that he can one day have it. The pink one is a journal I started when The Boy was born but haven't kept up with much. The blue one is a calendar, Go Mom planner. I buy these every year and keep everything important in it. It is a journal of sorts as it tells what I did everyday.

When I look at all this and start to think about all the stuff I write down it makes me realize I am my father's daughter. My dad is a list maker. He writes down everything he is going to do weeks in advance and then adheres to his list. I'm not as bad as he is but I do have stacks of notebooks where I have made random lists. Sometimes they are To Do lists, sometimes shopping lists, sometimes lists of things for Mike to do. (those are my favorite) Doesn't matter, I just like to make lists.
Now you probably know way more than you ever wanted to about my blogging, journaling, and list making. If you decide to tell about your blog beginnings let me know so I can come check it out. Some of you I already know since I actually created your blog for you...eh hem...Angi, AJ...but I would like to know why everyone else started.
Off to make my grocery list now...

Meme Saturday
It's the weekend! I don't know why I'm excited...everyday is Saturday for me. I may be putting an end to that soon, but I'm not going to talk about that today. I've decided to make Saturday "Meme day". I will post an entry but it will only be a meme unless I have something really interesting to say. Most people take the weeken off from blogging and lurking so I doubt it will matter much. Apparently most people only blog or read blogs when they are at work and are supposed to be working. I know that is true of most of my readers...ahem...you know who you are, don't make me call you out!
So I got this meme over at Tommiea's site. She got it from someone else but I didn't feel like going through all the links to find the orginal source. Feel free to go to her site, read her meme, then click on the link to where she got it to read that one too! Let me know if you play so I can come read!
1. Last weekend, I was thinking that _____.
2. If the weather continues like this, _____.
3. Will my _____ ever grow?
4. Often, on a summer's night, I think _____.
5. Right now, I could use a good strong ____
6. My favorite summertime meal is _____.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _____, tomorrow my plans include _____ and Sunday, I want to _____!
1. Last weekend, I was thinking that I was glad I was out of the house for a change!
2. If the weather continues like this, I won't be going back out of the house until December!
3. Will my Arbivitae ever grow?
4. Often, on a summer's night, I think I wish I were 18 again!
5. Right now, I could use a good strong rain so I won't have to water anything tomorrow.
6. My favorite summertime meal is anything with corn on the cob.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to catching up on my blogging and shows, tomorrow my plans include going to the grocery, and Sunday I want to go swimming!
I know I'm too exciting to handle. Oh well. We have had a busy week so I deserve a weekend of doing nothing. That is unless Mike has some big outing in mind that he wants to go on. Guess you will find out on Monday!

Random Bits About Me
I've been tagged by Italian Babushka! I've never been tagged before. I'm kinda excited! So here is what you do.
Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to blog about their seven things and post the rules as well. At the end of your post, choose 7 people to tag and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog! OK, here goes...
1. I was a nail biter until 3 years ago. Stopped cold turkey...don't know how or why.
2. I've had 8 speeding tickets in my life. Yeah...I have a major lead foot. I won't tell how many wrecks I've had.
3. I met my husband on the internets. He sent out a random email and I answered. That was almost 8 years ago.
4. I have 7 dogs, 3 cats, and 1 fish. At one time I had 10 cats, a hamster, and a bird with the 7 dogs and fish. Nuts? Yeah, probably.
5. I prefer to sleep during the day and stay up all night. I can't do that as much now with Jaykeb but that is what I would like to do. I believe it is because I was born at 5:03 p.m. so that is when MY day begins.
6. I love books about Mt. Everest. I know, weird. I've read Into Thin Air 3 times. Can't explain this obsession either.
7. I miss my job every single day. Someday I hope to open my own Interior Design store like the one my Mom had. I want to name it The Blue Pineapple. I can't think of one other job I would like to have other than the one I had and hope to have again someday.
There you have it. I don't know if there was anything surprising to anyone in this list. Pretty boring. So, now I have to tag 7 people. Well, I don't know if I know 7 people to tag but I will try. AJ, Katie, Movin Mom, Patti, Bossy and that is all. I don't know who else to tag and I know a lot of people have already done this one.

Manic Monday
Manic Monday brought to us by Lisa.
If your house was burning and you only had time to rescue three non-living things what would they be? My pictures, my son's stuffed puppies, and my purse(holds a lot of important stuff)
If you were to take a week long car trip with your family or friends, what complaint are you most likely to hear from your fellow travelers? What complaint would they most likely hear from you? If I was driving they would be complaining about my speed, too fast. If I were riding I would be complaining about the driver's speed...too slow! The route they chose to take, driving too close to the truckers, following behind another car too close, passing to close...it's just better if I drive!
What or who encourages the child in you to come out and play? My boy, of course. I do a lot of things with him that I wouldn't do without him.

Manic Monday and Anticipating the Weekend!
Manic Monday brought to us by Lisa!
Which of the seven dwarfs best personifies you?
This is easy and anyone who knows me could answer this, Grumpy or Happy depending if I'm on my meds or not! Ha!
If you could change the custom of shaking hands, what would you replace it with? I think the head nod is good enough. I don't particularly like touching other people's germie hands! Who knows what they were doing before shaking your hand. Yep, head nod works for me.
If you had to describe your disposition with meteorological terms, what would a typical forecast be like? Morning haze dissipating around noon. Afternoon, sunny with occasional clouds. Overnight warm and clear.
I posted last night and blogger stuck it in after my Happy Birthday post so if you missed it, it's down there. I know there are grammas wanting to see The Boy's new haircut so go look for it down below.
Today we are getting ready for our company this weekend. We have two days that we will be off with The Mom's Club so all laundry, house cleaning, etc. has to be done today and Wednesday. Tomorrow we have an Easter egg hunt which I had to go buy a dozen plastic eggs and fill them for an age range of 1 to 5 taking into consideration that some kids have nut allergies. What a pain that was. I think I did okay though. I just put some plain chocolate bunnies and easter stickers in the eggs. The parents can decide whether or not to give the kid the candy. On Thursday morning we have a trip to the zoo with The Mom's Club. This will be our first visit to the Greenville zoo. I am debating on buying a season pass. The trip will give me a better idea if that is something I want to do or not. My mom and Jim get here that evening and we start the landscaping extravaganza on Friday. I ordered 18 yards of dirt, a couple tons of stone, and rented a Bobcat with trailer. We are going to be busy. I'm sure I will have plenty of pictures of Jim working hard. With out a doubt there will be pictures of The Boy on the bobcat too! He is excited, it will be a big weekend for him.
I need to say congrats to my cousin, Kelly, for buying her first house! I am still waiting for pictures but I know she is busy. I will wait patiently.

Manic Monday
I didn't do anything but laundry all weekend and I figured you didn't want to see pictures of dirty underwear so for my Monday post I give you Manic Monday. I can't remember where I found it so I can't give you the link, I'm getting bad about that. I will be busy this morning though since The Boy will be in school. I really am going to try to start painting today too....I know, I know, you don't believe me. I will show you pictures once I start. It was cold this weekend so I didn't want to do anything but curl up under my blanket with Jaykeb and watch movies. I can't get motivated when it is chilly. Hopefully it will be warmer today and I will feel like getting some stuff done.
What movie did I watch, you ask? Okay, I will tell you. I watched The Departed. It was really good. I've never been a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio but this movie may have changed my mind about him. Now I want to see Blood Diamond because I heard he is really good in it too. Other than that it was the usual stuff...Because of Winn Dixie, Toy Story, and lots of cartoons while folding clothes.
So that was my big exciting weekend. What did you do?
Manic Monday
What do you feel is the biggest waste of time?
Making the bed...the dog or the kid are usually right back in it about an hour after we get up, what's the point?
If I knew then what I know now, I ....
I would have had children earlier so I could have had more.
How do you feel your life has changed over the past year?
I have moved to a different state...am starting to make new friends here...financially more stable. All in all, life is better this year than last.
I didn't really think this was a particuarly good meme this week but I didn't have anything else, sorry.

St. Patrick's Day Meme

A St. Patrick’s Day Meme- via Cat
1. Do you wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? Only if it happens by accident. I never remember.
2. Have you ever found a four-leaf clover? Yep...can't say it brought me any luck though.
3. Do you pinch people who don’t wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? No, because chances are I won't have green on either and I don't want to be pinched.
4. What’s the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to you?Probably haveing such a wonderful child. I got very lucky in the kid department...mine is great!
5. What’s the most unlucky thing that’s ever happened to you? I can't think of anything specific. I don't believe in luck too much.
6. Have you ever made or eaten anything dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day? What? Probably just cookies and cupcakes.
7. Leprechauns - charming or scary? I don't really think about them too much. They are a little creapy.
8. Have you ever seen the Leprechaun horror movies?I think so but I can't remember much about it.
9. When’s the last time you saw a rainbow? I usually see them at my grandma's house a lot but I can't remember the last time I saw one for sure.
10. What would you do with the gold at the end of the rainbow? Pay off all my bills, buy a new car, finish my basement, finish all my landscaping projects, take a trip to Italy, hire a personal trainer, and shop shop shop!
Manic Monday
Manic Monday
Welcome to Manic Monday, brought to us by Lisa. Today it's all about Random!!
Imagine you are on a first date and the person you are with has food stuck in his teeth. Would you tell him? What if he had food on his chin, nose or shirt?
I would definitely tell him! Who wants to be seen with some goober with food all over his face! Ha!
What breakfast cereal best describes your personality?
Special K with red berries...because I'm special and a little fruity!
Who would you most like to have a dream about tonight? What would you like to dream?
I will agree with Arlene on this one...they guy who hands out the lottery tickets! I'd like to dream he was handing one to me! I tell you I don't want to dream what I was dreaming last night and that was that Anna Nichol Smith was doing my hair...darn news programs I have to stop watching them right before I go to sleep!
There ya have it folks...did you play?

100 Things
Since I was supposed to write a post introducing myself for the party I decided to write one of those 100 things memes instead. You can see it HERE. I haven't taken any pictures of The Boy recently since he has been sick but I will try to get back to that this week. I know that is what some of you come here for. I assumed you didn't want to see pictures of him throwing up though. So far so good on the hubs and me not catching it...I'm not uncrossing the fingers yet though.
IPod Meme
I was visiting blogs for the Blog Party and found this Meme on Arlene's blog. I thought it was interesting because you can learn a lot from people by the music they listen to so I thought I'd do it. Here's the deal: You turn your IPod/MP3 player onto shuffle and list the first 10 songs that shuffle through. No skipping or telling stories!! List those 10...
1. Dream Weaver-Gary Wright
2. It's been Awhile-Staind
3. Glamorous-Fergie
4. Shake That-Eminem
5. Got To Be Real-Cheryl Lynn
6. Shake-Ying Yang Twins
7. Don't Fear the Reaper-Blue Oyster Cult
8. Summertime-DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince
9. Photograph-Nickelback
10. Promiscuous-Nelly Furtado
Okay...I have no idea what this says about me...I'm a hip-hoppin' disco queen with a flavor for some rock-n-roll now and then? I don't know, my music taste is all over the place. I really like 70s music above all else though. Comment and let me know if you played.
