Kitty With Credit!

Bank issues credit card to cat
Thu Jan 4, 11:34 AM ET
SYDNEY, Jan 4 (Reuters Life!) - An Australian bank has apologized for issuing a credit card to a cat after its owner decided to test the bank's identity security system.
The Bank of Queensland issued a credit card to Messiah the cat when his owner Katherine Campbell applied for a secondary card on her account under its name.
"I just couldn't believe it. People need to be aware of this and banks need to have better security," Campbell told local media on Thursday.
The bank said the cat's card had been canceled. "We apologize as this should not have happened," it said in a statement.

Cutie Patootie

Jayke got a Big Wheel for Christmas along with a bicycle, four wheeler, and a skateboard so there will be no shortage of ride-on toys for him and his friend, Micah, to ride this spring. This is a picture taken the minute we walked in the door from driving home from Indiana and he found that his dad had put it together for him. He pushes it with his feet all over the house with his puppy riding on the back.

Armed and Famous

There is a new reality show beginning on January 10th on CBS called Armed and Famous. It is being filmed in my home town, Muncie, Indiana. I'm sure it won't be a very good representation of the citizens of Muncie since the whole basis of the show is a group of celebrities(B list celebrities) becoming police officers and taking to the streets. I'm putting up a link to some photos from the filming on the local paper's website. If you watch this program please remember that a majority of the people being shown are criminals and do not represent the city of Muncie, Indiana as a whole. I have a feeling it will just be embarrasing for those of us who are from Muncie but will probably have that effect that a traffic accident or train wreck has...you hate to watch but you can't look away. In the South they call it "Rubbernecking". We will see.

Amazing trees

These trees were grown in Santa Cruz, CA the year unknown,
but the man that grew them never told any one how he did it.
Then in around 1999 the owner of Nob Hill foods in Gilroy, CA
moved them to his park in Gilroy and they are doing well.

Just neat pics...

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We tried to get a little creative for Daddy.

Today was Mike's birthday so Jayke and I spent the day working on the house and baking peanut butter pasion bars (Mike isn't big on cake). We got all his cards and his gift ready. (Jayke actually managed NOT to tell Mike what we got him this time) I decided we needed to try to make it a little more festive so we blew up balloons and drew faces on them. Jaykeb was particularly excited about the balloons. When Mike got home we did the whole gift thing, I stuck a candle in his peanut butter bars, then we went out to dinner. Because Mike was so thrilled (NOT) about my Hello Kitty toaster and waffle iron I got for Christmas my sister decided as a gag gift to get him the matching Hello Kitty coffee maker. He was not nearly as excited about his coffee maker as I was my toaster...I just don't know why...I thought everyone loved Hello kitty! He actually got the coffee maker the other day because Jaykeb kept telling him about his pink coffee maker so I had to give it to him early. I have decided that Jayke can not see any gifts or at least not be told who they are for anymore because he cannot keep a secret. I think the birthday was a success though and Mike was happy. I had to make up for the anniversary that I totally blew a while back. I'm glad I'm back in the positive category on the ole' scorecard now!

Happy Strange New Year!

It would seem the good ol folks in the South LOVE fireworks on New Year's Eve! I did not know this of course and was shocked when all of a sudden it sounded like we were at war. Turns out that was only part of a very strange New Year's eve for us. Most of the day and beginnings of the night were spent driving from Indiana to South Carolina in pouring down rain and fog so thick I couldn't even see the lines on the roads in places. When I got home the weather felt more like spring than the middle of the winter. It was nearly 70 degrees out and there was a tornado warning nearby. We had doors and windows open so we could enjoy the neighbors' fireworks...weird. It was pretty much an uneventful evening spent with hubby and Jayke. We didn't even watch any New Year's specials until 5 minutes before midnight. I got my kiss from Jayke and Mike and they were off to bed. Much better than going to a loud bar somewhere and over-indulging in drink as in past New Year's. Guess I am getting old.

My travel companion...

These are actually in reverse order. My trip started at the bottom of the post. After I took these pictures in the beginnings of the mountains it got too foggy and rainy to take any more.

Headin out

My holiday is over. We will be heading out tomorrow for home. Have to get home in time to wish hubby a Happy New Year! Jayke is really ready to get home. He wanted to leave tonight but I thought that would be a bad idea...I haven't even packed the car yet. Seems like Christmas flew by but we got to see everyone and we had a good time. My mom can spend the next month cleaning the crumbs out of her furniture from the cookie monster who has been dwelling in her house for 2 weeks. I will be able to post pictures when I get home although I didn't really take that many. Hopefully dad can email me the ones they took at their house so I can put them on here...hint...hint, Dad.

Great Picture!

My Obsessions

Should have been titled "current" obsessions...they are always changing. Right now I am obsessed with Bare Minerals makeup. I want it all! I got a bunch for Christmas but ever since I got contacs I can wear with eye shadow I have been on a makeup binge. For 33 years I have been unable to wear eyeshadow so it's like a whole new world opened up to me and I am obsessed! I'm sure my friend Annette can fully appreciate this obsession. This is really a two-part obsession because along with the make-up I am obsessed with cute little bags to carry it in. My next new obsession is knitting. I learned how while at my mom's for Christmas and now I am obsessed with hunting down fabulous yarns and creating beautiful scarves...so far that is all I can make...guess what everyone is getting next year for Christmas. I figure if I start now I will be able to make enough for everyone on my list. I need more practice first though, I tend to drop a stitch now and then so it looks like my practice scarf has bullet holes in it. Another new obsession is organizing. I am on a continuous hunt for cute containers, boxes, etc to organize all my stuff...and lord knows I have a ton of stuff! I found 3 super cute boxes at Hobby Lobby today on clearance that sent me over the moon! Thanks to hubby's thoughtfulness I was able to purchase them with the gift card he gave me for Christmas and can't wait to get them home and fill them. Weird, I know. And last but certainly not least is my obsession with the blog. I took a mini break from it over the holiday but I'm back to my never-ending search for fun things to add to it and cute pics to post...not including my own cute pics. It would be nice if I could just have interests without going bananas with them but I have to do everything to excess...I'm cursed that way!

Aawwwwwww!
